Human Rights Report Reveals Mine Victims in Al-Dhala'a during 28 Months

A human rights report has revealed that militias of the Houthis and ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh committed grim crimes against human and material damage left by anti-tank and anti-personnel landmines planted in Al-Dhala'a governorate during the period from March 2015 to June 2017.
The report issued by the Awareness Center for Media and Human Right documented 98 cases of human and material damage left by anti-tank and anti-personnel landmines planted by the Houthi-Saleh militia in Al Dhala'a governorate during the period from. during 21 months

The damages varied between killing, wounding, blowing up houses and booby-trapped vehicles and farms

The Head of the Awareness Center for Media and Human Rights said that the field team of the center documented (26) cases of killing (15) cases due to the incidents of explosion of anti-personnel landmines planted by the militias of Houthi and Saleh. Including (3) cases of murder suffered by children as a result of the explosion of landmines.
While the number of people killed by the explosion of projectiles or explosive devices targeted them in their places or vehicles (21) dead, including (2) children.

The team also documented 28 cases of injuries, 13 of which were caused by landmines planted by the Houthis, including 4 children and 1 woman.

The number of wounded civilians 22, compared to 6 military wounded. During the reporting period (March2015 - June 2017), while the number of wounded with permanent disabilities due to landmines (13) injured (5) amputated limbs

While the number of wounded who were killed by explosions in the possibility of their vehicles or (25) wounded, including (7) children were injured as a result of explosion remnants of war Houthi militias and Saleh Ali Dali.


The damages and material losses monitored and documented by the Awareness Center for Media and Human Right (34) house
Which was detonated by the Houthi-Saleh militia by using highly explosive landmines, locally manufactured TNT, known as dynamite, or so-called gunpowder, of which 22 houses were completely destroyed and 12 partially destroyed.

The report monitored the destruction of 4 vehicles as a result of the explosion of anti-tank mines planted by the militias of Houthi and Saleh in different areas of Dhala'a, and recorded a report of the awareness of the militias Houthi and Saleh trenching 6 sites and places frequented by citizens..
